Southern Cross University offers a range of scholarships to support international students. These scholarships are designed to recognise academic excellence, promote cultural diversity and encourage international students to explore opportunities at regional campuses across New South Wales.
Australian local students can refer to the Prospective Student Scholarship or the Undergraduate Scholarship. As well as equity scholarships, Indigenous Australian Scholarships, honorary scholarships or postgraduate scholarships.

SCU International Regional Scholarship
Value: maximum AUD$5,000 reduction for the first year
Application process:
The scholarship will take effect at the pre-payment stage and will be automatically assessed and issued at the same time as the offer.
The scholarship will automatically deduct the tuition fee at each course selection stage. In case of failure, all subsequent scholarships will be cancelled directly.
Eligibility:
- Apply to study a full-time (8 credits per year) undergraduate or postgraduate degree at either Lismore, Gold Coast or Coffs Harbour campus.
- Applicants must meet the university’s minimum entry requirements.
- Undergraduate entry: with a qualification equivalent to Year 12 in Australia and the required entry grades for the course applied; English proficiency should be 6.0 in academic IELTS (each band no less than 5.5).
- Postgraduate admission: a qualification equivalent to an Australian bachelor’s degree; The English level reached the academic IELTS 6.5.
- For continuing scholarship years, the value is based on grades and calculated based on the course GPA(in the 8 units * you completed) of the previous scholarship year: Course GPA 4.0-5.5 – $5000; Course is 5.5 to 7.0 – $8000。
- Students must meet their course attendance requirements and student visa in order to remain eligible for the scholarship.

SCU Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship (future student)
Value: maximum AUD$8,000 reduction for the first year

The scholarship will automatically deduct the tuition fee at each course selection stage. In case of failure, all subsequent scholarships will be cancelled directly.
Eligibility:
Students are required to have outstanding academic and English entry requirements of the University.
- For Undergraduate students: A qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 and the required entry grade for the program for which they have applied; and English language comparable to Academic IELTS 6.0 overall with no band less than 5.5.
- For Postgraduate students: A qualification equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree; and English language comparable to Academic IELTS 6.5.
- Course GPA 5.5 to 7.0
